In the story today, Abraham did not have to sacrifice Isaac. God didn’t want that, God wanted to give Abraham the freedom of knowing, God would provide – even when he didn’t see how. Just like that a ram appeared. Abraham’s step was much lighter walking down the mountain than it was going up because he realized when all things fall away: Children, marriages, perfect memory, sound body, friends and funds, there will still be the love of God, and nothing can take that away.
