Description

In his letter to the Ephesians, Paul was quoting Psalm 4. Psalm 4 says, “Be angry, but sin not; commune with your own hearts on your beds, and, be silent.” In other words, if we are not sure if our anger is the yucky stuff or if our anger will help clear out the yucky stuff, then sit quietly with it for a while until we know which it is.  

We pray for discernment.  We don’t pray that God would stifle our anger.  We pray that God would direct our passions in the right direction.
